I saw this awesome idea on Pinterest and shared with George several months ago. He loved the idea too!! We've wanted to try and tackle it for a while but we struggled with which room to use this in. We decided that since it was fairly easy, and free, it would probably best fit in with the look in the atrium. (One day down the road we want to tile it all in with slate but that's $$$ and right now free wins out). We thought the earthy look of the wood would go well with all the plants that will be in it soon. Just to give you an idea of what pallet walls look like (this means breaking a part pallets and using the wood to plank the wall): But we also liked the look of this one where the wood has a lot more dimension and texture:
We also wanted to incorporate perches for the fat-cats like this:
In an effort to use the materials around the house to clean up and finish up the main living area, we decided it was time to tackle all the pallets that were being used as squirrel perches in the backyard to taunt the cats:
I've got more detailed pics coming but here's the progress as of yesterday afternoon. Its coming along beautifully! We even put the cats up on the perches, but of course they were too squirmy to actually sit for a picture.
