I've mentioned in several posts that we took out the linen closet in the hallway in order to expand for the w/d closet and to open up the hallway. That left us with a big dilemma- do we need a linen closet? We decided for resale value one day that we needed something in the way of a linens closet. What we decided to do was take the soffit over the bathtub over the left side of the room over the toilet and vanity area. It would then turn into a 12" x 8' closet. We'll have just a small little sink/vanity area next to the toilet. I'm not a big fan of vanities and want something much more open and modern than what we have now. Here's the sketch up George designed of what it will look like.
Just to the left of the sink is the wall where the shelves will go for the linens. We have lots of lovely travertine tile we got as remnants that will tile the bathtub area and then the wall beside where the sink is. We'll also probably add some thin glass shelves above the sink to the left and then 2 below the sink. Now just to get the sink and the faucet. We're also shopping around for a new bathtub as the old one was pretty raggedy. More to come on this later this week.
