We have one wall in our dining area that we hadn't decided yet what to do. I'm thinking we'll just make our own chalkboard with some boards and make a frame for it.
Precisely what I wanted- color! It'll also tie in the DIY chandelier we're making from an old metal DVD rack and some cobalt blue glass wine bottles.

I'm thinking it will be a great place for us to post our menu planning for the week (i.e. to avoid George asking "Whats for dinner?"), post cute messages to each other, important reminders or even notes for when we have people over. I know, all very lofty aspirations but maybe we can make it a family tradition!
